ISO 400 200mm f/16 1/40 sec |
I wanted to capture a goose this semester and capture a shot with reflection. I used these settings because it was good light and I wanted to get the most out of the photo. (lower ISO)
ISO 500 55mm f/18 1/50 sec |
This photo was captured during the first storm of the year and I really enjoyed the color contrast between the red barn and white dusting of snow.
ISO 125 10mm f/3.5 1/1000 sec |
I used these settings because it was very bright out and I wanted to get a blurred background. And it was slightly windy hence the higher shutter speed.
ISO 100 24mm f/4.5 1/640 sec |
I just thought this tree was super cool. This tree had gone through a fire some years ago and I thought the view behind it along with the snow partially covering it was cool.
ISO 800 166mm f/16 1/100 sec |
I really love waterfowl and thought this little group of mallards was super pretty on the water. Higher shutter speed because they were slowly swimming away and I had to bump up the ISO to capture the beautiful green of the Drakes.
ISO 1600 250mm F/14 1/80 sec |
This whitetail doe was quite curious but I just thought she was super pretty in the lightly dusted trees.
ISO 3200 183mm f/16 1/500 sec |
Another mallard drake with his landing gear set. Had to use a high ISO because of the super fast shutter speed.
ISO 200 250 mm f/5.6 1/500 sec |
One of my personal favorites. This big boy was quite a surprise while I was fishing the Madison river down by Ennis Montana. It was super sunny and he was constantly on the move so I used the certain settings listed above.
ISO 3200 10 mm f/8 4 sec |
One of the night shots I attempted, nothing special but I seem to struggle just a little, but practice only makes you better.
ISO 1600 10 mm f/3.5 1/125 sec |
I really love the detail of this shot. I wish I could've gone back and lowered my ISO some but I still managed to pull it off.
ISO 100 10 mm f/16 1/80 sec |
Another beautiful view looking south towards the Pryor Mountains. It was a touch windy and I was shooting free hand so that is why I shot this at 1/80 of a second.
ISO 400 250 mm f/10 1/640 sec |
Late November in Montana always provides some awesome mule deer rut action. This mature Mule deer had his eyes set on a few does and was constantly running off younger competitors. Hence the 1/640 sec shutter speed.
ISO 160 250mm f/5.6 1/640 sec |
Another one of the moose but he finally decided to rest.
ISO 400 220mm f/16 1/320 sec |
And the Mule deer buck.

My buddies young 1.5 year old chocolate lab hunting birds this year.

Early fall colors from atop the rims overlooking Billings.

Another mule deer buck checking out to see if love is in the air.
ISO 125 10mm f/7.1 1/320 sec |
Quite the tree I found on an evening hike behind my parents place.

A cold snowy morning with a an amazing sunrise.
IS0 400 250mm f/16 1/50 sec |
A few more geese attempting to stay atop the ice.
ISO 320 14mm f/5.0 1/400 sec |
ISO 800 180mm f/5.6 1/640 sec |
And a couple more....
